In order to continuously being competitive the industry designs electrical panels using the smallest possible breakers, busbars, cables etc. and consequently generating enormous watt loss. Elsteel suggests to upsize the panels instead - and thereby actually reducing the watt loss!
Designing panels in accordance with IEC 61439-1 is not enough as the standard allows a final temperature of up to 120 centigrade. The problem is further aggravated if you have to remove the temperature rise by air conditioning like in offices, hotels, hospitals or shopping malls etc.
In order to truly reduce carbon emission and consequent global warming, the key is to make larger panels – that way the use of ventilation and cooling is seriously diminished and a noticeable amount of energy is saved.
We strive for making “green panels” rather than cheap panels.
The green panel will also save the end-user money in the long run. The investment in the more expensive larger green panel could have a payback period as short as only 2 years.
